Our work is concentrated in the region of Cundinamarca, Cauca, Caribbean Coast, Nariño and Amazonia.
We focus on the protection and promotion of the human rights of:
Women
Those who historically have had to experience discrimination, exclusion and violence and who to this day live with the consequences of unequal gender relations.
Boys and Girls
Children and adolescents, whose human rights are often violated in the context of the Colombian armed conflict.
Women human rights defenders
Those who carry out their work in favor of their communities and territories often run the risk of violence, repression and assassinations.
What do we do at the foundation?
Fundación Mujeres en Paz Colombia contributes to the strengthening of the human rights of women and social leaders or defenders of rights through their visibility and strengthening. Achieving total peace in Colombia implies eliminating any type of violence against this people, even in the most remote territories. For us it is essential to provide advice to create opportunities for a dignified life, security, income, education and real and peaceful projects for this people. Supporting total peace in Colombia implies combating inequalities in society, seeking the inclusion and participation of all.
Our Values
Solidarity
We deeply believe that changes are generated by working and acting together, supporting, building and strengthening each other from our knowledge and experiences.
Dignity
We work in favor of dignified living conditions for people in relation to access to health, education, work, recognition of land, etc.
Respect
It forms the fundamental basis of our work and goes hand in hand with the need to recognize ourselves as equal beings regardless of our skin color, gender, social class, age, nationality, sexual orientation.
Autonomy
We understand that women are political subjects with rights, therefore we promote our autonomy in the political, sexual, economic and reproductive spheres.
Incidents of violation of
Human Rights
We present these figures as a sample of a reality that should not be happening and that we are committed to change.
